Getting Back to the Tables

Things seem to be starting to go back to normal.  FFG has restarted releasing new ship to the game.  So, the last couple of weeks, I have started joining some of my friends in some live stream events (ZuluNet on YouTube).  It has shown some of the rule rust that we all seem to be having.  Now I know that there are some groups still holding virtual events and tournaments, but there are some us that took a little break dealing with some of the current issues and family changes.   I took a shot at flying the new LAAT/I Republic Gunship.  I flew it with a couple V-19 Torrents, and Obi-wan Kenobi.  Flew it against my buddy, Kyle, with his Scum list of IG-88B&C and Nom Lumb.  Not a well-known ship pilot of the Jumpmaster 5000.  Made it difficult due to the fact his pilot skill allows him to turn his turret to the firing arc you attacked from.  He is also the lowest initiative allowing him to put you in his firing arc when it is his turn to attack.  This is could work well if the initial attacker spent all his tokens that would help on the defense roll.  This card did come out with the booster pack Hotshots and Aces Reinforcements Pack.  This came out just before the pandemic kicked off, so not many people got to get to know the added pilots from that pack.

Having this extra time set aside for live streaming games is giving us the needed practice and get to better known with the new ships, new pilots and upgrades that are starting to roll into the game.  If you get time check us out and comment on games to help us get back into X-wing shape for the loosening restrictions allowing us to get back to the tables.
