MISSION BRIEFING: Apocalypse 40k New Year’s Eve

Mission Briefing

Orks have established a foothold on the planet and have begun outfitting a mekshop. In response, the Space Wolves have designated a ruined administratum as a rapid response headquarters. Both factions now vie for control over a trio of bridges that span a fault line in the planet’s crust. Should any massive vehicles attempt to cross the fault line without the use of the bridges, they would surely break the crust and plummet into the planet’s core. Additionally, the planetary defense force hastily set some nearby defense systems to target forces that might attempt to use the bridges.

Primary Objectives

Control of Key Positions (Progressive): At the end of each player’s Command Phase, the player whose turn it is scores:

  • 10 points for the middle bridge
  • 5 points for each side bridge, Ruined Administratum, and the Mekshop
  • 1 point for each large defense system.

Only units wholly on the bridges may count toward controlling them.

Special Rules

Each defense system MUST fire on it’s predetermined firing solution at the beginning of each turn (not the player turns). The smaller defense systems fire upon the middle bridge. The larger defense systems fire upon the corresponding opposite side bridges. The player controlling each defense system at the beginning of the turn determines that system’s primary targets.

  • The large defense systems cause the primary target 3 mortal wounds, all other units on the bridge suffer 1 mortal.
  • The small defense systems cause the primary target 2 mortal wounds, all other units on the bridge suffer 1 mortal wound
  • A unit may only be the primary target once per turn
  • Characters only suffer 1 mortal wound during this “phase” per turn

Secondary Objectives

In this mission, when the players are selecting their secondary objectives, they can, if they wish, choose for one of them to be Drive Them Off or Stalwart Defenders below.

Drive Them Off (Progressive): Score 2 points for each objective that your opponent held at the beginning of your turn that you control at the end of your turn.

Stalwart Defenders (Progressive): Score 2 points each objective that you held in your command phase and continue to hold at the end of your turn.
